Nellie Snellen

Hi
Another Nellie Snellen folder.  Just layered onto white cardstock and some stickles.  In real life the stickles aren't pink.   Definitley will have to click on pic to see detail.   I have three of her folders and they are very nice.
Have a Blessed day.

Santa has a cadillac sleigh

Hi
I was so excited I just had to post this one today.  It is oh so sparkly.  I have two more cards using this sleigh.  Of course clicking on the pic will show all the glitter.  His sleigh body is another recycled Christmas card from other years.
The sleigh is an svg http://www.www.birdscards.com
Thanks Bird for such a lot of wonderful svgs.
Have a Blessed day.

Folded Christmas trees

Hi
Very simple card to make.  The background was from paper I had last year.  The trees are all over blogland. If you type in Connie Babbert, Google will send you to the template.   I used a scrap of fun foam for the trunks and that was it.
Have a Blessed day.

Something recycled snow man

Hi
As you know I went on a card making frenzy the other day.  This is one I recycled from a Christmas card from the past.  The darling cat on fence is from http://www.paperscissorsinc.com/ Oct. blog.  I popped it up with dimensionals that I made from fun foam and the Xyron.  Just in case you would like to do that it is so easy and cheap too.  They also stick instantly. lol  (wonder how I know haha)
I take a piece of colored fun foam and run it through the Xyron and voila I have any size, any color dimensional I want just by cutting it to size.
Have a Blessed day.

Poinsettia 2012

Hi
I am so glad the card making suddenly took a growth spurt.  This is one of twelve that I did yesterday and this morning.
Poinsettia from last years stash.  Shiny paper from an old stack of Paper Reflections.  Embossing folder from Sizzex (sorry can't find the name of it right now).    Sentiment from Dollar Store.
Hoping to organize names on things in the New Year.  (no it is not a Resolution; just a hope lol )
Have a Blessed day.

Christmas roses

Hi
It is time to get serious about making my Christmas cards.
This is a picture from an ad. I figured since it was an ad it wasn't copyrighted.  The sentiment is one from the P.O.T.D. and the bow was made with the Bow Easy.  The background paper was computer generated.  In order to see it better you will need to click on the pic.  I will probably make a few of these since they go together fairly quickly.
Have a Blessed day.

WOW, I am a winner x 3

Hi.
I am so excited to be a winner twice this month.  I don't enter my comments on blogs that have giveaways unless I follow that blog all the time and it is not for the giveaways.   That was the case with my comment on http://www.capadiadesign.com/.   She had such a wonderful wreath on her November blog and I was fortunate to win her November giveaway.   Diane has such a great blog.  Drop by and visit her.

My other win was earlier this month.  It is from Mhay Cards  http://maricelv.blogspot.com/  Aren't these such pretty cards?  Drop over and say hello to Maricel and help her grow her blog.

My other wonderful news this month was the engagement of my beautiful daughter to a wonderful young man.
Indeed, my life is full of joy.
Have a Blessed day.

Valiant Dahlia and a Christmas card

Hi
Here is a pic of my valiant little dahlia plant.  If you are interested in the story it is posted in my blog under Dahlia.  Also if you click on it you can see that the poor little darling has the 2nd flower (which is dying) behind the plant.  Of course it is not an indoor plant and it has really given its all in producing those 3 flowers indoors.  It won't be long before all the leaves are dead and then I will put it away in the porch and see what it does next year.
To the left of the pic you can see some of my paper embroidery.  On top of the antique writing desk are just a few of the bells I have collected.  I love chimes and the bells were from relatives who have passed away.
The card is one of the Nellie Snellen folders from http://www.ecstasycrafts.com/.  Most of my Christmas cards will look like this with different colored matting.
Have a Blessed day.

Silver fall card

Hi
I fell in love with this svg from http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/.  It can't be cut as an svg because it is so fine but it looks lovely done with a silver glitter pen in the Cricut.
I was going to use a couple more fairies but when I put them with the card I decided I liked it just plain.  "Maybe" I will do another one with fairies.  Clicking on the card sort of shows the glitter.
There is no sentiment because I never know when I make the cards what I plan on using them for.
Have a Blessed day.

Breanne's 18th birthday card

Hi
It is my grand daughters 18th birthday and she is a very old soul in an 18year olds body.  That is so much a part of her charm.   I wanted something more Victorian for her card.
Now I have done it again and forgot to document whose idea I have used.  If it is yours please let me know and I will give you credit.  Sorry.
This is such a cool technique.  The inside is like a frame with a recessed area and anything can be printed there or even hidden there.  (which is what I like to do with their gifts)

This one shows the interior of the enclosure.
This shows the little door that covers up the enclosure where her gift is hidden.

I hope she likes it.
Have a Blessed day.

Night time fairies

Hi
Just a simple little fairy and moon card for the sake of whimsy.  The little fairies are from the cartridge Tinker Bell and Friends. They are popped up on dimensionals.   The tree svg was in the P.O.T.D. so I have no idea who to give credit to.  sorry.  The moon background came from the internet somewhere.
Like I said, using up the scraps and some of them have been there for a very long time.
Have a Blessed day.

Dahlia

Hi
This year I bought a dahlia root and some how it got forgotten and didn't get into the garden.  One day I noticed it was still in the bag so I planted it in a big pot.  Then the squirrels dug it up.  I replanted it.  They dug it up again and chewed it in half.  Finally I covered the pot with netting and lo and behold the little plant started to grow.  It was too late in the season for it to bloom outside so every evening I brought the pot in and every day it was warm I put it outside again.  Finally it bloomed.  That was my inspiration for this card.   As I have said before I am trying to use up the P.O.T.D..   The dahlia I made for this card.  The rest were pieces I had.  The white background is the last piece of grooved paper and I wish I had more.
Here is the pic of the inspiration.  The plant grew to over two feet tall but I have only included the flower.  (and part of my hand lol)
Have a Blessed day.

Blue butterfly tree

Hi
Do you ever see something that catches your eye and you can't forget it?  This is what happened to me.  I saw a pic of butterflies clustered all over a tree.  I wanted to do something like that. I never could seem to find the right tree.  I punched out the butterflies and stored them away.  This is my time to use up a lot of things in the P.O.T.D.  so I determined to use the butterflies.  Then I remembered a pic I took the very first day I got my camera.  Since that day I learned how to size the photos and so that is what I did.  I also had a small scrap of this gorgeous paper that blended so nicely with the trees.  You may have to click on the pic to see the raised butterflies.  They are punched from paint chips.
I wanted to include a pic of the original idea but blogger won't let me include it since it is a document and not a picture.  Maybe there is a way to do it but I don't know how.  Awe well, se la vie.
Have a Blessed day.

Where there is a will there is a way!! lol  Blew up the pic on my screen and took a pic of it and voila here it is.
Thanks for sticking with me through all this.  lol

Sympathy card

Hi
Just a quickie sympathy card.  This one has been on the P.O.T.D. since last summer when my friend in Kelowna and I stamped and cut the afternoon away. The stamp is one she had so I have no idea where it came from. The folder is Brocade Window from Cuttlebug.  The label is a Cuttlebug label folder.  The sentiment is computer generated.  (I know it is a little crooked but it is hard to place those labels on top of the printed paper. )
Have a Blessed day.

First Christmas card this year

Hi
This is a lovely folder from http://www.ecstasycrafts.com/ and it is their new product for this year.  The number is PIF006 Snowy Village 2.
It is very hard to photograph white as you all know.  I believe if you click on it you should be able to see the detail.  I added a few stickles for a snowy effect.  I love the fact I can make several cards in just a few minutes.
Have a Blessed day.

First quilling

Hi
Finally---I did some quilling!!
The quilling paper I used was some very dark navy from a magazine.  The embossing is a Cuttlebug folder called MaryAnn.  The doily is from the P.O.T.D. (pile on the desk) and I am not sure whose work it is and so if you recognize it please let me know so I can give you credit.  The doily and matting are a soft mauve.
Have a Blessed day.

93rd birthday

Hi
This card is for an aunt by marriage.  She lives alone on an acreage and does most of her own work.    This year she said she cut back on some gardening.
These are all small pieces I had and decided to put them all together.  They just seemed to work with a minimum of trimming.  The flower will lay flat for mailing and the tiny butterflies have a bit of stickles on them.
Have a Blessed day.

80th birthday

Hi
My family has a rather strange sense of humour.  It is my oldest brothers 80th birthday next week.  I am no different than most of my fellow card makers----I have trouble making masculine cards.
I used Perfect Pearls to stamp the shrubbery and the numbers came from the Dollar Store.  The cat in the hat came from the internet.  I stamped the outside of the envelope with the same leafy design.
There you have it.
Have a Blessed day.

Thank you, France

Hi
It has been a struggle to get back to making cards and so I want to say thank you to France @
http://www.frenchiestamps.com/ for the inspiration to make this simple but lovely card style.  It was on her blog July 13, 2012 and she calls it Triple Time Stamping.  I think this style will get a real workout as it is so easy and there are so many things I can make with it.  When I had the white inserts lightly glued together and after stamping I ran them through the Cuttlebug folder for a bit of definition.
Have a Blessed day.

There it is!!!!

Hi
It is finally done!!! Now that I can find my desk I have no excuse so next week after my company leaves I will have a card.
Sat down last night and tried out quilling. I hope I can get a card made since this will be my first attempt at quilling.
Juliet, it is now P.U.T.D. (pile UNDER the desk). lol

What happens when you lose something????

Hi
Warning!!!! Photo heavy blog
There is nothing good to be said about trying to clean up a craft room
I now know where my blank blank quilling stuff is-----in the Christmas box!!!! What was it doing there? and no, there will be no quilling for awhile. lol
Just saying
In the search for my quilling supplies I decided to clean up the craft room.  I even brought in a 6 foot folding table to sort things on !!  When that got full the floor became the next best solution.  The shelves are done.   To the right of them is my desk which I need to clear to work on.

When it is sorted and put away I will post again.  Pretty soon I am hoping to get at some cards.  (I know that I keep saying that and I don't actually get at it).

Have a Blessed day.

Hello Mojo !!!

Hi
It seems as though my mojo may be coming back.
Unfortunately the reason it is coming back was because I needed a card.
This is a card I made for my brother who has a very scary medical condition and they can't do anything until the end of November.  It is a potentially fatal condition.  We are praying they do surgery before it bursts.
The lattice is an svg by Images by Heather.

Quilling

Hi
I have nothing to show today but wanted to direct those of you who enjoy quilling to a blog.  This site features some absolutely gorgeous and very intricate quilling projects.
http://quilltiqueparadise.blogspot.ca/
I have had quilling on my mind for awhile now but cannot find my little quilling tool and papers.  A sure indication that the craft room needs to be organized.
Have a Blessed day.

Not a card

Hi
Just a little peek at what I have been doing.  We took a trip to my brothers in Creston, B.C. and raided his garden.
Here are mustard bean pickles, beet pickles and grape jelly, cherry jelly and strawberry jelly.  Did you know that if you have to reboil a batch you lose about half a jar?  I had to reboil 2 batches as when they were cool they were just syrup and that would never do.  There are several packages of carrots in the deep freeze ready for eating or making carrot cake.
While in Creston I had an opportunity to spend a little time with my blogging buddy, Gail, who was also visiting there.  It was great to see her but the time was too short.
The front porch is built and the new lawn is in and looks lovely.  My few tomato plants are starting to have a few red tomatoes and my pepper plants have a few nice size peppers.  Just a few more things to be done around the yard and then I hope I am ready for fall.
I love fall and hope to get a couple of fall cards done. I love laying in the hammock and watching the hawks circle the field in front of our home.
Have a Blessed day.

Sparkly shoes

Hi
This is the other birthday card I needed for the month of July.  My dear friend Vivian and I share the same date.  Her birthday and our anniversary (34yrs this year) are on the same day.
I am so bad in remembering where I got things from.  The medallion was in the P.O.T.D. (if anyone recognizes it as their work please let me know and I will give you the credit) and the flower was from my old stash, the butterfly is a peel off from the Dollar Store.  Now I DO remember where the shoe svg comes from Denise from Bocca.  The glitter shows really white in the photo but it is very sparkly cream colored in real life.
Have a Blessed day.

Birthday teapot

Hi
Thank goodness for birthdays.  I have two very dear friends who are having birthdays this month and so I needed cards for them.   Perhaps this will get me back on card making before the summer is over.
The teapot is an svg from Birds Cards and the iris folding was from a wonderful tutorial by http://paperboutique.blogspot.com/.  I love making iris fold cards but so often the patterns I have aren't appropriate for the occasion.  This way I can use what ever cutout I want.  Love it.
Have a Blessed day.

Progress or is it?

Hi
I know I said I would be taking the summer off from blogging but every now and then something pops up that makes me want to share.
A couple of years ago where we live there used to be some lovely old homes and they were being torn down to make room for the LRT (light rail transit).  My friend and I were wandering through the yards and discovered this lovely old shed with the mural painted on it.  What a shame it had to go under the bulldozer.
I do have the urge to make a couple of cards so one of these days I will do that and post but in the meantime we have a porch to build and all those summer time things that take a person away from crafting.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer.  We finally have sunshine and the promise of lovely warm weather for the long week end (July 1).
Have a Blessed day.

Summertime and the living is easy!!

Summertime
And the living is easy
Fish are jumping
The cotton is high
Oh your daddy’s rich
Your mama’s good looking
I said hush little baby
Don’t you cry.

This may well just be my theme song for this summer and since the mojo seems to have taken a slight vacation I am going to quit feeling so guilty about not posting and just coast until the mojo comes back.  I hope you will understand and when the spirit moves me and I get a card done I will post.  So for now the cards will be sporadic.
Thank you all for following me and leaving me such great and encouraging comments. Hope to see you all soon.
Have a great summer.

Diamonds and lily

Hi
This card has been sitting on my desk for awhile now just waiting for the bow.  Today I bit the bullet and made a bow.
The idea for the card came from a card I fell in love with but over time the sticky note I had attached to it got mixed up with other pieces of paper and I am sorry I cannot tell you who made it.  What I can tell you is that at the time I wanted to make the card I emailed the lady and she graciously gave her consent for me to copy it.  Thank you and if you know whose card I copied please let me know and I will give her credit.
Have a Blessed day.

Michaels 16th birthday card

Hi
It's been awhile since I posted and probably if I didn't have a couple of birthday cards to make it would be longer still.  I really have no excuse except spring fever???
The Porsche is computer generated on photo paper.  Unfortunately, it was  polaroid photo paper and the ink smeared so I just covered it with a sheet of plastic and put a border around it.
The cute car is an svg from PapaSue Creations but instead of cutting it as an svg I used the picture and popped it up with 2 layers and pop dots.  Used some stickles for the wheels and flowers to give it some bling.  The birthday money is tucked inside the car and he will have to dig it out from under the spare tire.  (I know, diabolical grandma  lol)
Generated the sentiments on the computer and printed on white cardstock and die cut with a Cuttlebug folder.  The sentiment will show if you click on the red car.
That was it for me.
Have a Blessed day.

Lilac rose easel card

Hi
This cute little easel card is a freebie from Shirley's Cards and I just love the colors and how easy it came together.  (of course, she did all the work tee hee) The rose is popped up and of course, I had to add some bling.
It really isn't crooked, it was just the way I had it sitting.
Have a Blessed day.

April Showers bring----

Hi
It seems we have all been having lots of showers.
I found this cute little scene as an svg on Treasure Box Designs.  They had a duck,  but I  had this sweet little kitten digi from Sliejke that I wanted to use.
I printed the kitten on shiny card stock (from the scrap pile) and fussy cut it out.
Popped up the clouds, the puddle and umbrella with pop dots.  A few raindrops and a few flowers and printed the digi on the envelope and colored it with regular pencil crayons and OMS and that was it.
Probably clicking on the pic would show it off better.  Just saying.
Have a Blessed day.

True Love

Hi
This was such a quick little card to do.  I always give my daughter a Mothers Day card and this will be the one this year.
The die is Marianne Design DS0908.
The flowers are some I made in the p.o.t.d (pile on the desk) the true love sentiment and butterfly are probably from the Dollar Store.
The background is a lovely green linen cardstock but it doesn't show that well. I didn't line the envelope because the flowers are too high to fit in one so it will be given by hand.
Have a Blessed day.

Happy Birthday Ruth

Hi
My childhood best friend of 52 years is having a birthday in May.  I wanted to send a special card to her.
The branch, flower and butterfly are placed under "glass".  It is the case from one of my embossing folders.  Flower and butterfly are handmade from my stash and the branch is one I colored with pencil crayons and OMS.
I cannot remember where the digi on the outside of the envelope came from so if it is yours please let me know and I will give you credit for it.
Have a Blessed day.

Silhouette Bride and Groom

Hi
I was going to enter this in Craft a Scene Silhouette but then I re-read the rules and it says it has to have a scene in it so-------------
The background paper is from the stash.
The quatrefoil is one I like to use and it is an svg from Cori's Cricut and Cut Two Pieces (which used to be Cutting Time).
The border is MS GardenTrellis.
The silhouette is an svg from Cute-Cutz.
Lined the envelope with the background paper and all done.
Have a Blessed day.

The pop up mortar board and hat are from Extreme Cards and Papercrafting.
Some little flowers from the stash, a couple of fake diamonds  and a couple of corner curleques from  Cuttlebug.

Diamond fold card

Hi
The  diamond cut is a complete black card and then I inserted a white card inside.  Used the same diamond cut for the envelope.  This is an svg from Monica's Creative Room.
I rarely put sentiments on the cards until it is time to use them.  This one could either work vertical or horizontal.
Have a Blessed day.
