Anniversary Card 2010

Hi,
This is an anniversary card I have been working on. The images are from http://cajoline-scrap.blogspot.com/. This is a lovely French site and it is in French with bird songs. She has a lot of freebies and other stuff as well. Very beautiful site.
The cut out flowers are from an svg.file from SVGCut.com and they cut the card and flowers all at the same time and the large flower is from there as well. They have some lovely free cut files.
The Happy Anniversary on the inside of the card is from Lyrical Letters using the italic monoline and holiday keys.
The card just grew and grew. I had wanted to make a 5" x 7" card but by the time I was finished it became a 7.5" x 7.5" card. So in order to mail it I made a corresponding box with the same image on the front and the address printed inside the circle.
Now the interesting part was when I took it to the post office for mailing it would have cost me $10.00 to mail to the next province. If I would have put it in a regular envelope it would have cost only regular postage which would have been under $2.00. So I am sad to say that in mailing the flower is probably going to get flattened as it went regular post in the end.
Have a Blessed day.

Wha-hoo they made it

Hi,

What a difference a day (7) makes!!!

These are the same tulips I posted snowy pictures of May 7th. These tulips have been growing in the same corner of my garden for 11 years now. I have dug up the poppies (that are peeking up in front of the tulips) time and time again but the tulips keep coming back. They must be as big as a saucer. They, also, must love that corner of the garden. I think because I have not separated the tulip bulbs the flowers are really not cup like as tulips should be. But they are still pretty.

I was going to post my anniversary card for my brother and his wife today but I felt it needed a post all its own. So I will post it tomorrow.

Have a Blessed day.

Cricut = Lyrical Letters

Hi,

Today I have two cards. They are both made with Lyrical Letters cartridge and the Cricut. Unfortunately the glitzy paper doesn't show the true color and the dark part of the card is dark green. The card on the top is more of the true color of the glitzy paper. I have no sentiments on the front as I am just sort of playing with the cartridge and making cards so I have some on hand.

These are so quick and easy to make but in real life look quite lovely.

Have a Blessed day.

First attempt at coloring with pencil crayons

Hi,
After seeing this circle flower on Chris' blog, at mudmaven designs I just had to try. So off to the craft store I went and bought a couple of pencil crayons to try it. I needed to find OMS. You would think in a city of 1 million people it would be easy to find. I finally found it in an art store that I remembered my mother frequenting before she passed away. This is my first attempt and I hated to just put it away so put this little frame around it. The digi came from Freebie Fridays on Jodi's blog
http://www.bugaboostamps.com/home.html .
Chris, if you are reading this, I am sorry I could not figure out how to put your site here. But I want to tell you that I have been blessed having you as one of my cyber friends. I am hoping to soon figure out how to put blogs that I go to on here. http://mudmaven.blogspot.com/ I think I did it!!
Sorry friends if this is a jumbled up post but these things happen. I want to add a quote here from Pablo Picasso
I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it.--Pablo Picasso
Have a Blessed day.

Tulips in May and I am a winner

Hi,

After looking at all the gorgeous spring flowers on the different blogs I was moved to photograph my tulips and rose bush. lol

This photo was taken May 6, 2010. The weatherman says we are going to get warm weather soon. Sure hope so. Somewhere under that snow mound my clematis might be trying to peak out.

I was so excited this morning to open my mail and find I was a winner of some gorgeous blog candy. It is a stamp set called Little Things, from Chris at Blessings Ink. I am sorry I still don't know how to link her to my blog but I am sure you can find her at Blessings Ink on the blogspot. I sure hope so as she has a lovely site. Thanks Chris.

Since my tulips are struggling to bloom I decided to let them bloom on my page here. The tulips are cut from SVGCuts.com and the frame is from Lyrical Letters from the Cricut cartridge.

Have a Blessed day.

A Fellow Blogger

Hi

Today I am trying to put a link on my blog so you can win some candy from a very talented lady.

Shelley at Heartstrings is giving away a lovely card set she made and her gorgeous handmade flowers. That is one of the things I have not figured out yet and that is how to put the link here. But Shelley's blog was mentioned on Capadia Designs and I followed from there. So, there you are. Both sites are lovely to look at and soooooo helpful.

The office/craft room in the middle of a project

Hi,

Well I did tell you it was only 8 feet by 8 feet!!!

Imagine that to the right of the picture is a bookcase 6 feet tall, doubling as storage shelves for all my other craft supplies. The brown chair that is hosting my laptop is usually where Shadow lays while I try and work around her and the mess.

I found that when I had everything neatly stored on the shelves, my creative juices stopped flowing. So now I have resigned myself to the mess and have actually made a few cards. I will be posting them in the next few days.

I think as long as I can see some of the bits and pieces I have made I then get them made into cards. But it would be nice to have a little organization in this room. lol

Have a Blessed day.

"Cat-scanned"

Hi,
I didn't realize how long ago it was since I posted anything. Funny how life gets in the way of our crafting. But hopefully I am back on track again.
This is part of my office/craft room. It is 8 feet by 8 feet!! lol
I share this room with my "assistant" Shadow. In this picture she is in her favorite position while I am "trying" to work. We actually do manage to get work done!!
The painting above my desk was done by my mother. It is one of 3. Will hang the other 2 at a later date. She painted them about 25 years ago. I have several of her paintings and one of these days I will post pictures of the ones I have. She painted up to a few years before she passed. She was 90 years young when she passed 10 years ago.
Have a Blessed day.
