Winter Scene Christmas

Birds Cards

Hi,
This is going to be one of many like this.   The card front is an SVG  by Birds Cards.  The trees are from an SVG by http://www.quillingpatch.com/  The starry sky is wrapping paper that I found at Wal Mart.
Pretty simple.

Upcycle and pop up Christmas card

  Hi,
Sometimes you find an element on another card that just begs to be used again on one of your own.  This season I have come across a few of those so will be utilizing them on my cards.
I love pop up cards and this one was so easy that I made a few of them with different fronts.

Glitter window technique

Hi,This is such a fun technique.  I copied it from  Dawn and here is where to find it.

Not much to say because she does it all for me.
I have a couple more cards to share soon.  I am so behind on cards so maybe a  lot of people on my list will get New Year letters.

Hibiscus flower for granddaughters birthday

Hi,
Thank you Shirley for a gorgeous and simple card to make.  http://shirleystemplates.blogspot.com/
The shimmery paper is foil.  The happy birthday is easy to read when the card is standing up.  Difficult to make cards or type when one arm is in a cast so this is short and sweet.

Thanksgiving napkin card

Hi
This is the napkin from Thanksgiving dinner with wonderful friends who are more like family.  It is mounted on cardstock and then mounted on the holograph paper which is more cardboard than paper.  I buy it at WalMart in a big sheet,  The napkin is ironed on the cardstock using Saran Wrap.
So left over swirls and that's it for this time.

Fall birthday card with deer

Hi
I needed a birthday card for my brother and since my holograph paper was still on the craft table I just grabbed a deer from the  Silhouette Studio files and created a cut out in the same paper that I used to make the previous card.
So there you have it,

Fall birthday card for our daughter

Hi,
This is a pretty plain and simple card but I liked it.
The leaf is cut from an SVG from the silhouette Store and mounted with pop dots on holograph card stock.  Greeting printed from the computer on vellum.  Scored the side lines on the SU score board.
 There you have it.

Wedding card Dennis and Lenora Aug. 2015

Hi,

Slowly getting back to card making.
This is a wedding card for the eldest son of  long time family friends (three generations).  The vellum was crimped with a crimping tool (my new favorite toy).  The inside contains their photo in a heart and the verse is an Apache Wedding Blessing.  I love using this for wedding cards.

Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you will be shelter to the other.

Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you  will be warmth to the other.

Now there is no loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.

Now you are two bodies,
But there is only one life before you.

Go now to your dwelling place,
To enter into the days of your togetherness.

And may your days be
Good and long upon the earth.

Have a Blessed day.

Suzie's show horse birthday card

Hi,
Apparently I made this card but did not post it.  I was asked by a long time friend to make a birthday card for her daughter's birthday with her show horse and this is what I came up with.  The horse drawn on the envelope is with the Silhouette pens.  Love what the Silhouette can do.
Have a blessed day.

Baby dress, sunburst and thank you

Hi,
I have not been doing much crafting or blogging but once in awhile I make a card or two.  Mostly when  I need one.  No excuses, just not in card making mood for some reason.
Here are three baby cards, one thank you and one sunburst for whatever occasion it would be needed for.  The thank you is from Bird, and the sunburst is all over the net but the baby dress may have been from Shirley's cards a long time ago  but I am not sure.

Had to take two pics of the thank you card to show how they were popped out.  Also this card is only 2x3 inches.
Have a blessed day.

Asking for help once again re svg sunburst

Hi
I am hoping by reposting this pic someone will see it that has it in the svg.  There may be one of my blogging friends who has it and didn't see my request before.
I would dearly love to have the svg since it seems to have gotten lost from my files.
Thanks.

Sunburst and I need help

Hi,
Last October I made this card for my daughter from an svg that I was fortunate enough to get from someone through blogging.  My computer crashed and I lost a lot of my svg files.  I wonder if anyone can help me with it?  This is not a die and I really would like to have this svg again.  Hopefully someone still has it in their files.
Thank you so much for your help in advance.
Have a blessed day.

Mother's Day card to my daughter

Hi,
Since Mother's Day is tomorrow and I have been slow in getting my card off to my daughter I posted it to her Facebook page.
The card is very tiny and I used the Daffodil edge card from http://www.birdscards.com/.  The sentiment is done with the pens for the Silhouette.  The daffodils are gold vellum.  Prettier in person.
This is the sentiment I used on Joy's card.
To my darling daughter, Joy
The day I held you in my arms for the very first time was one of the happiest days of my life.
Thank you for the blessing of being your mother.
Love you with all my being.
Love, Mom.
Have a Blessed day.

Butterfly birthday card

Hi,
This card was inspired by http://www.frenchiestamps.com/2015/04/butterfly-vellum-window.html .
France uses vellum and markers in her video but since I do not have markers I used some shaving cream technique cards and I am well pleased with the result.  I also don't have the punch so used a butterfly from the Silhouette Store and an embossing folder called Woodgrain from Sizzix.  The sentiment was part of a birthday card from Silhouette Store again.  I cut it from the same background and was going to use the letters only but they were too fiddly to take off the mat one by one and the card needed a bit of brightening so used the negative.
Have a Blessed day.

Sympathy card Faux silk

Hi,
I have no need of a sympathy card just yet but the poem here just cried out to me to make one.
The dandelion is from BeaOriginal site (sorry, at the moment I can only give you the site but not the link) and the poem is by Jerry Ham of Spokane, WA.  He writes the most wonderful poetry.  Jerry was kind enough to give me permission to use it on this card.
The card is done in my latest favorite technique (faux silk).  I cut the dandelion with my Silhouette Cameo and then used the pen and the Cameo to draw a silvery gray one on the envelope.  The faux silk is done in a silvery mauve tissue paper.  I think I like how it turned out. :)
I am sure you will have to click on the poem to read it.
Have a Blessed day.

Gone fishing birthday card

Hi,
Since my brother -in -law loves fishing I thought some of the Stampscape stamps would make a nice masculine birthday card.  I also used the off stamp to put a little interest on the envelope (sort of like a watermark).
Not much to say about it.  I used 3 stamps to make the scene.
Have a Blessed day.

Faux silk card

Hi,
Seems I might just be getting some of my mojo back.  This is the fun technique of faux silk.  I found the instructions all over the web but France Martin is the one I followed.
I don't have the proper pens for coloring so used some of my ink pad and a blender pen.  The results were not really what I had hoped for but practice makes perfect so will have to try again.
Have a Blessed day.

Halloween Easel card 2014

Hi,
After I posted the card from 2015 February and March's birthday party at Jim's residence I went looking on my blog for the other paper napkin cards I have made and realized they never got from the camera to the blog.  So here is one of them.  The technique for fusing the napkin on the cardstock is pretty simple but I have found you need to use the good cling wrap as the edges do tend to curl up after awhile so using a border seems to hold them down.  Also some napkins are 2 ply and some are 3 so they need to be pulled apart very carefully to make sure all layers come off.  There are a lot of how-to's on You Tube.
Hope no one minds a Halloween card in spring.  lol
Have a blessed day.

February and March Birthday Walden Heights

Hi,
Oh yes, I know it has been a very long time since I have made and/or posted a card.  I really am trying to get back to doing this but, for some reason, it is not going as well as I had hoped.
Walden Heights Age Care facility, where my husband lives now, has a birthday party once a month. Due to illness they had to cancel February so the two months were celebrated together.
They often have live music and dancing etc..  They also have cake and juice.  This is the napkin that the birthday people receive with their cake.  I fused it onto card stock and since it seems to be the rage right now I made this into a shaker card with little music notes.
Since round or oval shapes are hard to place the pop dots around I used fun foam and cut out the shape and attached everything with my Xyron.  Works slick without too much fuss trying to get the sticky pop dots just right.  Plus, the fun foam has no sticky edges for the little music notes to stick to or get loose.  The envelope is pretty big but since I will hand deliver it I didn't worry about making it smaller to fit the card.  :)
Have a blessed day.
