Dahlia

Hi
This year I bought a dahlia root and some how it got forgotten and didn't get into the garden.  One day I noticed it was still in the bag so I planted it in a big pot.  Then the squirrels dug it up.  I replanted it.  They dug it up again and chewed it in half.  Finally I covered the pot with netting and lo and behold the little plant started to grow.  It was too late in the season for it to bloom outside so every evening I brought the pot in and every day it was warm I put it outside again.  Finally it bloomed.  That was my inspiration for this card.   As I have said before I am trying to use up the P.O.T.D..   The dahlia I made for this card.  The rest were pieces I had.  The white background is the last piece of grooved paper and I wish I had more.
Here is the pic of the inspiration.  The plant grew to over two feet tall but I have only included the flower.  (and part of my hand lol)
Have a Blessed day.

I can't believe how that little dahlia survived the off planting, the digging ups, and the being torn in half and still became a beauty. That Dahlia is not only an inspiration for the card, but an inspiration about life! Your card is stunning and I love the matching envelope. You should be very proud. Best, Curt

Wow, Myrna, your dahlia matches the original so well. You really made it look like the real one!

I love the card, and the matching envelope.

I'm so glad you told the story of the dahlia. It really is an inspiration like Curt said.

What an amazing story...my mouth dropped as I read this unusual little story. It was determined to bloom and/or you have a really green thumb. For the last 2 years I can not get amaryllis bulbs to flower. I'm not giving uo...bought 3 more, have one in a dark cool dry place and that one will be repotted in 5 weeks.
