SD Sketch Challenge

Hi,

I have been dying to do a card with the lattice work. I was pleased to see this challenge as I felt I could incorporate it into this card. I also wanted to do some more tea bag folding.

The base card is 5" x 6.5" covered with some wedding style wrapping paper.

The tea bag folding is mauve and blue but the mauve is not showing up in the picture. It is called cut out tea bag folding.

So a couple of my favorite things, butterflies and flowers.

The two little squares are embossed with vine edging folders and the Cuttlebug. The dark mauve is some fancy paper from the Dollar Store.

(My photography really needs some working on though. lol)

Hope you like my card.

Have a Blessed day.

Musical minuet

Hi,

While sorting out some books I came across old piano lesson books from when I was a very young girl (many moons ago lol) and thought they would make lovely cards.

The background is burgundy card stock from Walmart.

The edge is a Fiskars punch, probably scallop.

The lace is from my stash as is the ribbon and the jewel is an old earring.

I probably got the idea to use music sheets from Beth at Nana's Memories and More.

Hope you like my card.

Have a Blessed day.

Spackling technique

Hi,

This is the "culprit" that got me into blogging.

I was just surfing around looking at cards on the net and came across this tutorial by Rosemary from Creative Liberties. For some reason I was not able to comprehend that she used a stencil.

I then spotted Beth's blog, Nana's Memories and More and sent her an e-mail and she walked me through Rosemary's tutorial. (for some reason I was not able to see Rosemary's e-mail address).

I did not have a copper stencil so I used the alphabet and number stencil from a childs school supplies. I had some spackle just hanging around from a repair project in the house. The apple was from beautiful paper that Purdy chocolates were wrapped in and rounded on a pencil and attached with a pop up. The frame was taken from the internet and copied onto photo paper. The background paper was in a bundle of homemade paper from a discount store called Bianca's. What a find for me amongst all the stuff they had there. Not craft stuff either.

So through meeting Rosemary and Beth this way my blogging was born and some lovely friendships were formed.

Have a Blessed day.

1st Anniversary Card

Hi,
This is one of my first tries of making a card from the Cricut cartridge Potpourri.
As usual, paper is from the Dollar Store. The flowers were some in my stash.
The card was for our son and his wife.
I decided not to try and layer the people for this one.
Burgundy is one of my favorite colors (next to blue) and I like to pair it with shades of pink.
Have a Blessed day.

Stitching -dandelion flower?

Hi,
Hoping this qualifies for the CB challenge for stitching.
This was a quickie card out of my head after seeing the dandelion fluff.
Again, the butterflies and flower (sort of).
Have a Blessed day.

Tea bag folded thank you card

Hi,
Thanks to Beth N. from Sunflowers and Dragonflies for the gentle push she unknowingly gave me. Thanks Beth.
I love tea bag folding and have laid it aside for awhile due to other card making ideas that I have gotten from all the wonderful cyber card making ladies that I just HAD to try.
The paper is just card stock and computer generated freebie patterns from Jak Heath at Jak Heath designs. The sentiment is computer generated and the vine is from a peel off (Dollar Store again). The white oval is from a package of oval shapes and the black oval was cut free hand.
Hope you like my card.
Have a Blessed day.

Silver butterfly and flower embroidery on paper

Hi,

Time is relentless !! It just keeps marching on.
Here I am again and it doesn't seem such a long time ago since I posted but it has been.

This is one of my favorites. It is silver embroidery on dark paper with a lovely background from Jak Heath. (Jak Heath has a great site and some lovely freebies. Take some time and go on over to visit. ) The antenae and body of the butterfly are just clear beads.
Hope you enjoyed my card.
Have a Blessed day.

"The Fun Cake" Ron and Diane's wedding

Hi,
This is the fun cake that I did for our friends wedding. I posted the pictures of their wedding cake yesterday.
In the background of this photo you can see all the preparations going on. I have an extremely small kitchen so when I create anything there isn't an inch of space left and the whole thing is a disaster zone !!
This cake depicts bits and pieces of the happy couples life. She was into martial arts, hence the fighting figure. He had his own business and it was called Cash 4 Trash. At one time she worked for UPS and he worked for a company called Got Junk.
The evergreen trees encircled their home. They had a very large dog named Houtch and he was a sweetheart.
The cake is actually three layers deep.
Hope you enjoyed seeing my pics.
Have a Blessed day.

A Wedding Cake

Hi,

This is one of the wedding cakes I have made. It was made for a neighbour of ours.

I love using fresh flowers for cakes. I especially think orchids are so gorgeous. The bridesmaid dresses were the same color as was on the cake. When I make a wedding cake I usually make another cake which I call "the fun cake". It usually is a carrot cake and depicts things about the bride and groom that are fun or humorous. I will post that one in the next post. This cake was chocolate and I mean chocolate!!!
Have a Blessed day.

Roses and butterfly

Hi,
I just love roses and butterflies and this gorgeous rose color.
The paper was, as usual, Dollar Store paper. The picture was computer generated and I tied the beautiful brown ribbon on and covered the card with clear plastic, probably from a package.
The picture was in my stash for a long time and I really had no idea how I wanted to use it but finally the opportunity came and voila, here is my card.
Have a Blessed day.
